SPADES Diagnosis Workbook

Diagnosis workbook

The SPADES Diagnosis Workbook is produced by the SPADES partners as a research tool. It is insprired by high school education books which provide background information before asking follow up questions. Questions help pilots reflect on their local situation and needs, while also providing important information for researchers. This educational approach is used to give guidance for integrating soil health into spatial planning and design, while also helping the SPADES project develop support materials.

Specific for the diagnosis phase is the analysis of the pilots' challenges in the context of stakeholders, eurpean and national policies, the spatial typology and history of the pilots, and analysis local soil conditions. This first phase of any planning project requires fostering collaboration between the diciplines of spatial planing and design and soil science and working together to plan for the co-creation phase.
