AquaConSoil 2025
AquaConSoil 2025 will take place in Liège, Belgium. In the heart of the 'ardent city' the next edition will be hosted by the University of Liège. SPADES is partnering with PREPSOIl on the session: Spatial planning and design as a means to support healthy urban and industrial soils
The Mission Soil projects PREPSOIL (Preparing the European Mission towards healthy soils) and SPADES (Spatial Planning and Design with Soils) look at the interactions between land use and the Soil-Sediment-Water system in spatial transitions.
PREPSOIL has studied ‘soil needs’ for 20 representative regions with different land uses across Europe, with a broad stakeholder participation. The soil needs represent what we as land users need from soils, but also what the soils need to perform as services to the land uses.
SPADES focuses on the integration of soils in spatial developments. This is done with a broad consortium of planners, soil professionals and pilot partners from 17 locations across Europe, spanning 10 countries. The project is about using, preserving and restoring the opportunities of soils through spatial planning and design.
